Will Healy is a composer, pianist, and improviser whose work bridges New York’s many musical worlds—from classical concert halls to jazz clubs and hip-hop venues. A 2023 Leonard Bernstein Prize recipient from the ASCAP Foundation, he combines a love of tradition with a drive for innovation. Healy is the artistic director and founder of ShoutHouse, a collective of hip-hop, jazz, and classical musicians described by U.S. poet laureate Billy Collins as “sweetly and smartly off the rails.” ShoutHouse has premiered over 50 new works, and their debut album Cityscapes on New Amsterdam Records features “a lavishly orchestrated, absolutely unique blend of postrock, art-rock, and indie classical” (New York Music Daily). As a performer and bandleader, Healy has led shows at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, National Sawdust, and le Poisson Rouge, and has given solo recitals in the U.S. and abroad featuring both original and classical repertoire, including Bach’s Goldberg Variations and Well-Tempered Clavier. He plays piano and synths in Pathos Trio, an award-winning, metal-influenced chamber group, and is a founding member of Upstream, a duo with violinist-composer George Meyer. He serves as composer-in-residence for Midsummer’s Music, Wisconsin’s longest-running chamber series. His honors include the Charles Ives Scholarship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, two ASCAP Morton Gould Awards, the W.K. Rose Fellowship, a J-Fund commission, and residencies at Bogliasco, Willapa Bay AiR, and Brush Creek. He has composed for the New York Philharmonic, including an original work for rapper and orchestra. Healy earned his M.M. in Composition from The Juilliard School, studying with Samuel Adler, John Corigliano, and Steven Stucky, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Princeton University, a Yamaha Artist, and a member of ASCAP.

She has engineered for powerhouse corporations (Nickelodeon, Interscope Records, etc.), photographed top-tier artists and companies (KRS-One, Sesame Street, etc.), and shared the stage with legendary artists (Kendrick Lamar, Talib Kweli, etc.). Whether through jam sessions or big stages, Dizzy’s goal is always finding new ways to change the world. Most recently, Dizzy has taken her talents nationwide, performing as a regular cast member in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning Broadway show Freestyle Love Supreme. Her prowess in freestyle battles has earned her major victories on the global stage, including winning the 2023 End of the Weak Emcee Challenge World Championship and the Snipes’ 2023 Battle Champs freestyle competition, held live in Times Square to celebrate Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary. Performing in front of a crowd of 90,000 people, Dizzy solidified her status as not just one of the best live Emcees in New York City, but one of the top freestyle artists in the world. In addition to her accomplishments as a performer and creator, Dizzy is also a dedicated educator, committed to sharing her craft with the next generation of artists. She has led workshops and masterclasses on the art of freestyle rap across the United States, teaching with both the acclaimed Freestyle Love Supreme team and the genre-bending ensemble ShoutHouse. Through her teaching, Dizzy continues to inspire young artists to find their voices and express themselves in the moment.
