King Princess visits the Barnett Center
On February 10th, arts management students, as well as students from across campus, congregated to see the world premiere of the music video “Ohio,” by 20-year-old recording artist Mikaela Straus, stage name King Princess, who came to campus to provide a rare opportunity for arts management students to Q& A with an internationally recognized artist. King Princess was in town to perform at Express Live, a venue change after selling out capacity at the Newport. Arts management student Skylar Harris, currently completing internships with both the Barnett Center and Sony Music, saw this as an opportunity to bring King Princess to campus. Students in Dr. McIntosh's Developing Arts Careers class engaged with Straus, asking questions about the music industry, the creative process, and what it takes to “make it.” Pictures of the event are available to download on BuckeyeBox.
